No more nursing

I am a little sad to tell you that Trey and Bella have weaned :( Its been about a week since they have last nursed.

A few weeks ago, they were barely nursing at all during the day, so I stopped offering nursing during the day. When they "asked" I nursed, but I never offered. Then last week, they were only nursing for a few minutes in the AM and before bed time, so I decided to do the same thing and only nurse when they "asked". They haven't nursed since Valentine's Day.

I am happy to have my body back to just me but am sad that this wonderful experience has ended. In the beginning, I wasn't certain I would be able to breastfeed one baby, let alone 10 week premature twins! But I did it! I am so very happy to say, I gave my babies the very best I had for nearly 18 months! What an amazing bond this has given me with each of them!

I have to say, I am very surprised at how much milk I still have! My breast hurt and I am leaking everywhere - more than I have leaked since that first month! Hopefully that will all stop soon.

I am excited to say that I now have the opportunity to help other moms who wish to nurse their twins! I have been asked to serve as the co-chair of the Expectant Moms Committee for the South Jersey Mothers of Multiples! I am very excited about this position, which will officially begin in July (even though I have already taken on some duties)!

Thanks everyone for helping us through all of the breastfeeding downs and celebrating all the breastfeeding milestones! Its been a wonderful 18 months!


Poor Bella woke up this morning covered in poop! Mommy and Daddy have no idea how it got out of a onesie and two pairs of pajamas!

Mommy, Trey and Bella went to the airport today to pick up Mom Mom! Then Mom Mom came home with us and played with Trey, Bella and Daddy while Mommy went to the South Jersey Moms of Multiples Meeting!
